Dr. Brandi Cihlar, PhD, LPC, LCDC III

Clinical Director

Dr. Brandi Cihlar holds a Ph.D. in Counseling and is a licensed professional counselor, with a specialization in mental health and substance abuse. She began her career in community mental health, with populations such as incarcerated individuals, those with trauma, and addictions.

Dr. Cihlar has worked in education and training as well and serves as an adjunct faculty member for the University of Akron. Dr. Cihlar has facilitated individual and group sessions in IOP and PHP programs in her previous work and enjoys working with the substance abuse population.

Emily Goodyear, LPC, ATR-P, CCTP

Therapist

My name is Emily Goodyear and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Art Therapist and Clinical Trauma Practitioner. I am very passionate about my career and have spent the last 4 years working with adults battling chronic mental illness and substance abuse. I received my undergraduate education at Bowling Green State University and my Masters degree at Adler University.

I currently reside in North Canton with my husband, Brett, and our dog Benji. I prefer to spend my free time being active outside but also love to get lost in a good movie or book.

Gina Skolosh, CDCA

Case Manager

Gina Skolosh is a CDCA/Case Manager for Arrow Passage Recovery. She is a full time grand-mommy to her ten year old grandson. She is also a full time student at Grand Canyon University, pursuing her masters in Professional counseling. She has her bachelors in Psychology with emphasis on addictions.

She is pursuing her dream of helping others who suffer from addiction. She is in recovery now for 20 years and wants to give back what has been given to her. She is married to who she calls her best friend for 12 years.

Barbra Kates

Art Therapist

My name is Barbara Kates. I am Licensed Professional Counselor and an Art Therapist. I earned a Master's degree in Art Therapy and Counseling from Ursuline College and and two Master's of Education degrees at Kent State University.

I love learning new things! Prior to coming to Arrow Passage Recovery, I worked with people with severe mental illnesses. My background also includes family and individual counseling, drug and alcohol counseling and education.

My name is Samantha Whitmer, born and raised here in Canton, Ohio. I have my degree in Human and Social Services: Chemical Dependency. I am a mother of 3 boys and a step-daughter, they make me a better person everyday. "Pick your head up and keep smiling", is what I use as a affirmation everyday. Life isn't always easy, most days are harder than most and sometimes there isn't anything we can do about it everyday- all we can can do it try our best and keep our heads up and keep pushing forward.

Shetoria Allen, LPN was born and raised here in NE Ohio. She is married with two children, and loves being the grandmother of two beautiful girls. She has spent most of her life locally, but also resided in Virginia Beach, VA where she received her education in practical nursing from Medical Careers Institute, one of the top leading technical schools in the Tidewater area.

Emmanuel Turner

Director of Admissions

Emmanuel was born in Alliance, Ohio and raised in Canton, Ohio. He worked his way up in Arrow Passage from being a peer support technician to the director of admissions. Along with that, he is also an ordained elder and youth pastor and has been married for 10 years (November 28th) to his lovely wife, Kristy, and together they have one child, a daughter, Anaiya.

Courtney Butterfield

Dietician

Courtney's mission in life is to share her gifts with other people, and to show them how great they can be. She feels beyond blessed for the moments shared with her clients over the years, and realizing nutrition is only a part of their journey. The counseling Courtney shares encompasses cognitive behavior therapy- making sustainable positive lifestyle changes and eliminating ‘diet approach’ thinking to eating. Her heart is full when clients discover parts of themselves they didn’t know were there. Courtney's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Akron, completion of the Coordinated Internship Program through Akron, Certified Sports Nutritionist, and Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise.
